 Update July 2007

This picture is taken in Devin's car (recently given to him by his Opa. Our wonderful Grandma Betty passed away this year, but we were able to spend some good time with relatives we rarely see before and after her memorial service. Brianna is now out of her cast...she had an adventure involving the trampoline and the tree-fort. Elisa will be a senior this coming year. She works several jobs in town and managed to swing 3 AP classes and a Shasta College class t his last year. Elisa passed ALL of her AP tests! I'm very proud of her. Devin is becoming quite the pianist. He's focusing on jazz piano and is wowing all who come into his hearing. Diane is teaching more than ever...both private art lessons and contracted teaching in our local schools. Kevin is (still...20 years!) teaching math at Red Bluff High School (now with his brother Daniel there also) & often leads worship at church. Please send us an e-mail at kev-di@penner.net . You can also see Kevin's website at RBUHS & see the RBUHS Math Department website.

 Update February 2003

This year Diane has been home schooling Elisa for 7th grade.  Diane's MS remains 'under control' & she takes Avonex shots once a week.  Devin is in public school for 5th grade.  Brianna is at the Christian School for 1st grade.  Kevin continues to teach mathematics at Red Bluff High & is now the department chair.  Elisa enjoys the Jr. High group at church.  Diane continues in women's Bible studies & occasionally teaching art to small groups of children at home.  Kevin helps lead worship at church & is helping his brother Daniel (& family) build a house next door! Of course, life includes much more than this but this is getting lengthy.  If you're one of our 'long lost' friends, please send us an e-mail at kev-di@penner.net so that we can get back in touch. We'd love to hear from you !

The "New Year" Report - 1999

Praise God!   This has truly been a year of His abundant provision on our behalf.  We started out in January of 1998 in the Neurologist's office being shown MRI pictures of my wife's (Diane) brain tumor.  She told us to put our building plans to a halt and begin preparing for surgery and whatever might follow.  God has provided spiritually, phyiscally, emotionally, and financially in ways that are nothing short of miraculous.

In February, 1998 , she had the surgery to remove the tumor.  Countless people from our church and the larger body of Christ surrounded us in support.  Our children were cared for, our meals cooked, our house kept clean, our bills paid...on and on!  Diane and I went in to the neurologist for a follow-up visit in April 1998, and she said, "You ought to start building your house"!   We figured that God had stopped us in the nick of time so that we'd have money from the sale of our house to pay our medical bills... instead, He provided for ALL of the bills, and now, having learned Who really provides, allowed us to continue.

We started the "paper" part of building in April and broke ground in June 1998.  God provided people every step of the way:  A contractor friend in our church who set us up with all of our "contractors price" purchasing, a construction teacher from our church that worked with me all summer, a 'retired' builder from our church who helped me finish the housed once school started again for me (I'm a teacher), and countless volunteers who painted, cleaned, pounded and cut....  I have never built anything bigger than a children's playset before!  But on November 30, 1998 our house was COMPLETED, and we moved in on December 2nd. See the House Building Page.

Isa. 43:18-21    "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.  ...I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,   the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.

Praise God!
